WAYS OF INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AVIATION INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE

Summary

The paper presents the results of the analysis of the current state, problems and prospects of the national aviation industry development in the conditions of a difficult military-political and economic situation.

At present, the development of domestic civil aviation is one of the strategic directions, since Ukraine is the largest country in Europe with a favorable geographical position, being a connecting link on the Eurasian routes, and claims to be an international transit hub, which is of particular relevance on the eve of the signing and implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements on air traffic and joint aviation space («open sky»).

The article presents statistics for the last three years, which demonstrate the main trends in this industry. The systemic problems of the aviation industry, that do not allow airports to acquire great significance for the state economy and become competitive participants in the regional aviation services market, were identified. It was determined that the aviation industry of Ukraine had significant development potential. Meanwhile, it requires immediate systemic and large-scale reform, which, in turn, will contribute to increasing its competitiveness not only at the national but also at the global level due to the modernization, reconstruction, restoration and construction of a modern high-tech aviation infrastructure in accordance with international quality standards.

One of the methods for implementing the systemic reform process should be the use of a public-private partnership, which will give an impetus to attract the necessary funding for innovation and investment projects for the development of aviation infrastructure and will increase its efficiency. The paper substantiates the need for a differentiated approach to choosing the most optimal form of public-private partnership depending on the investment performance of airports, taking into account the interests of both the state and private companies, which will improve the aviation industry of Ukraine and achieve sustainable growth and development of its potential.

Key words: airline, aviation industry, public-private partnership, innovative development, competitiveness.
